Looking for a small project?  

Your workplace, youth group, Sunday school class, family, scout troop etc. can adopt our blessing box for a month. 

 

Your group collects or purchases items.  Your group may either drop off  the items or perform a weekly check-in to restock items.  

We will post a photo of your group on Social Media

Most Needed:  Individual water, juice, or gatorade  

Single Serving Items 

goldfish crackers fruit cups fruit snacks pudding cups cookies or other lunchbox treats  cheese and crackers Individual tuna or chicken with crackers Individually wrapped granola bars, breakfast bars, etc. Individual bags of nuts or trailmix

Small Pop-Top Cans:

Individual ready to eat ravioli or pasta Individual ready to eat mac n cheese Individual chili

Perform a random act of kindsness:

celebrate a birthday  honor a loved one in-memory of a loved one

We can acknowledge your gift on social media, or send a card to the honoree!

Looking for a donated box truck

OR 

a moving company that might want to partner with us to help us pick up donated furniture. 

Do you have an hour or more a week?  Need service hours? Enjoy helping customers? Do you like sorting, cleaning, organizing?  We need help Tuesday - Saturday 10 am to 4 pm.  Must schedule in advance and pass a background check.

Every Wednesday we ask our community for the items our families need most!   You can love and encourage our families by shopping on our AMAZON WISHLIST  or dropping off items at our office.   Some groups do specific drives of items like toilet paper!

Sometimes we need help with larger items like furniture and appliances. Can you help pick up a donation or delivering to a family in need?   This would be as needed (volunteer often or just once!) - we would like to create a list of people who can help us load and unload our trailer.  

We sometimes need help taking a car to the mechanic, or picking it up. Do you have a battery jumper? We occasionally need someone to jump a car or put air in the tires  (minor maintenance tasks.)  Can you drive a stick shift? (rare, but it happens!) Does your youth group enjoy washing cars?  Or does your business want to give back to our community and provide some detailing?   Would your class or scout troop like to make some demonstration videos (checking the oil, putting air in the tires, etc.)?  This would also be a great partnership for Vocational Automotive Repair classes!  Call for details. 

 

 

 

 

Want to volunteer from home in your pajamas or on your lunch break? Take a minute to share Family Promise events, needs, and success stories on social media with your friends and family!  Make sure you follow us on your favorite social media platform and personally invite your friends to follow us too!  When you join us for an event - "check-in", and share why you care!  That's it - use YOUR social media voice for good - tell people about Family Promise of Blount County and how we can all help families experiencing homelessness!

Do you want to help families experiencing homelessness?  We provide meals to our families in the shelter program 5 nights a week. We need Volunteer Groups (Churches, schools, community clubs, businesses) or Individuals/Families*. Sign up to provide a week of meals or a single meal.   Contact us - we would love to talk to you and get you on the calendar!   We also provide grocery and take-out meal gift cards if you don't like to cook but want to help!   *This is a great way to serve with your family.  Get your kids involved by preparing a meal together!
