The core purpose of CASA of the Tennessee Heartland is to provide a voice for abused and neglected children in our community. As a non-profit, volunteer-based agency, our mission is to empower CASA volunteers to advocate on behalf of abused and neglected children in juvenile court. Our vision is to provide a court-appointed volunteer advocate for every child who needs one.
What We Do
A Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) volunteer is a trained community member who is appointed by a judge to represent the best interest of a child(ren) in court. Children with CASA volunteers include those for whom home placement is being determined by Juvenile Court. Most of the children have been victims of abuse, neglect or abandonment.
